The 10 Best FIFA World Cup Songs Ever (part 1)

Football and music have always been close friends. From World Cup anthems to songs which have inspired football stars to dance on the glass field, music moves this sport. From the 1998 hit “The Cup of Life” of Ricky Martin to  “Live It Up!”  by Nicky Jam and Will Smith, here is the list of the best FIFA World Cup songs ever.

“Live It Up!” by Nicky Jam, Will Smith and Era Istrefi

The track produced by Nicky Jam, Will Smith and Era Istrefi is catchy and growing. With unifying message, a reggae/ska beat, and easy to remember chorus “One life, live it up, cause you got one life”, we can see people and ourselves singing along at the 2018 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony.

“Waka Waka” by Shakira

Shakira is the Queen of the FIFA World Cup. 2010’s “Waka Waka” of Shakira has become the most successful FIFA World Cup anthem ever. It came in at No. 38 on the Billboard 100, and notched 1.8 billion views on YouTube and became the 26th most-viewed video in the history of YouTube. Today, even after 8 years since it was released, the MV of  “Waka Waka” still averages over 1 million views/day.

“The Cup of Life” by Ricky Martin

Despite the fact that its performance at the Grammy Awards in 1999 jump-started the “Latin explosion,” “The Cup of Life” penned by Robi Rosa and Desmond Child for Ricky Martin to sing at the 1998 FIFA World Cup is a Latin/global blockbuster and features the most soaring and anthemic World Cup chorus ever.

“La cour des grands” by Youssou N’Dour & Axelle Red

In order not to get confused, “La Cour des Grands” (translated to The Big Leagues, or The Big Court) was the official anthem of the 1998 FIFA World Cup, while Ricky Martin’s “The Cup of Life” was the official song. Although the sentiment of perseverance and triumph was the same, more mellow rendition and the French lyrics make these two songs ying and yang.

How To Make Your Children Love Music

Music has many benefits for your children. It is believed to be an important part of their development. It is a great stress reliever and helps them to express themselves.

To develop a love and appreciation for music takes more than just learning it. In order to get your children to appreciate the full benefits and the impact on their lives of music, you should follow these instructions.

Is Appreciation for Music Needed?

In reality, the answer is yes.

Music can be said to be a universal language with no boundaries. It helps to open the doors into the periods in history and other cultures also. Mostly everyone is affected by music.

You can teach your children to develop an open mind by teaching them to appreciate different music types. By this way, you can also teach them that cultural boundaries are not the walls to keep people out. Music helps them to develop necessary social skills, therefore, to have more opportunities in life.

Start Early

The love of music can start when a child is in the womb because he can listen and learn while in the womb. Although music probably won’t increase immediately your child’s IQ, if being done in moderation, it can make a healthy effect on him when he is born.

Once being born, the mind of a child is a sponge, so you should expose them to different music types. Soothing music is probably the best type to start out with.

Continue Their Education

When they get old enough, you can introduce tools to your children. There are several ways for you to do this.

Toys: Give your children musical toys or instruments that are designed for their age. They can be a great music learning tool.

Apps: There are a lot of apps to teach music to your children. Make sure you know well about the apps before you download them.

Classes: If you feel that your children are ready, sign them up for a music class. There are some sites such as LessonRating.com that can help you find teachers to teach your children how to sing, play instruments, and read sheet music.

Let Them Make Their Own Decisions

When your children get old enough to decide their own music tastes, let them explore what’s available for themselves. The important point of teaching kids to appreciate and love music is to make them be able to discover new things about the world and themselves. The only way to do that is to let them keep trying new things.

Creating a Musical Home Environment

Your children spend more time at home than any other place. Home is the most predominant source of experiences. It’s important for parents to create a good environment in the home that includes music in a meaningful way. Start with these simple steps to create a musical home environment for your children.

Immerse your home in music. Whenever appropriate, let the music play in the home. It doesn’t matter what type of music. Your children will find particularly meaningful with any musical genres. So, remember to play music – any and all music.

Actively listen to music. Besides having music playing in the background, attending to and interacting with music regularly is also important for your children. With a young child, you should move his hands or legs to the music. With an older child, you can spark conversation and ask him questions about music. That can help in focusing your children’s attention to the music and suggesting that music is something that elicits a response.

Sing with your children. An excellent way to help your children internalize music is singing with them. It doesn’t matter how well you sing, you can sing simple songs for kids. With young children, repetition is important. That will help your children learn basic melodies and rhythms. Singing a song is also a fun way for you and your child to spend time together.

Dance with your children. Dancing is another fun way to encourage your children to learn about music. Finding and moving to the steady beat of the music is fundamental to all future musical ability. If your children find it difficult, don’t get discouraged! Just give them more time.

Make music together. As your children get older, you can encourage them to make music together. If they play the guitar, you may consider a duet with them. If you play an instrument, you may play along with them when they sing. That will make your children understand and feel the shared joy of making music.

Let music be a part of everyday life that improves whatever we do. If you instill this value in your children at a young age, they will continue to explore a relationship with music when they’re older.

4 ways music improves our health

If you’re looking for an easy way to transform your mood, just listen to music. According to longlasting research, listening to music can heighten positive emotion through the reward centers of our brain, stimulating hits of dopamine that can make us feel good. In some cases, music’s impacts on health have been more powerful than medication. Here are four ways that music seems to impact our health.

Music reduces stress and anxiety

Music can prevent all biological markers of stress, the increasing of anxiety-induced in heart rate and systolic blood pressure, and the decreasing of cortisol levels. In one study involving surgery patients, listening to music had more powerful effects on stress-reducing than using an orally-administered anxiolytic drug.

In addition, one recent study has found that music helped to make in reducing anxiety and stress in a children’s hospital, above and beyond social contributions.

Music decreases pain

Although music has an impact on dopamine release, it’s not clear why music may reduce pain. Of course, stress and pain are closely linked; so music’s impact on stress reduction may also partly explain why music can decrease pain.

You can see that people use different kinds of music to promote specific types of healthy activities. One form of music might get you revved up to walk or run in the morning, then another type of music might be perfect to relax after that run. A good balance of physical activity and relaxation can help reduce the pain for people.

Music may improve immune functioning

Some researchers believe that listening to music can actually help prevent disease.

They found that levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, which can weaken the immune system, decreased significantly in those listening to the dance music, while their levels of the immune system’s first line of defense, the antibody immunoglobin A,  were heightened. So, listening to music can boost your immune system and may help fight off disease.

Music helps us exercise

The United Kingdom researchers recruited thirty participants to listen to motivational music, non-motivational music or no music while they walked until they reached exhaustion levels. Measurements showed that listening to music increased the length of time participants worked out. The participants who listened to motivational music felt better than those in the other two conditions.

In another study, results showed that when exercisers listened to music with a faster and synchronous beat, their bodies used up oxygen more efficiently than music with a slower and unsynchronized tempo.

Does Music Really Help While Studying?

Studying takes some real concentration, especially when you’re studying for a big exam or a subject you’re not familiar with or just not a fan of. When you research study tips, most recommend music, it blocks out background noise, gives you an even tone to keep you focused on the content of the books.

Many suggest that calm, relaxing music is best, especially something like classical music as it doesn’t include any words and the instruments actually help you stay focused. While all this information is really helpful and somehow makes sense, we all have our own studying preferences and the type of music we enjoy.

The question we’re looking at today is whether music really makes a difference when it comes to studying. There are many students who prefer silence while many also prefer music, some classical and some music with words, then, of course, you get the few students who can study in just about any conditions, whether there’s a party, a movie playing or people talking.

What Research Tells Us

If you’re using music to try and bump up your exam marks, the sad truth is, it doesn’t really work. The myth known as the Mozart Effect has been proven to ineffective, especially when it comes to enhancing our abilities to learn new things or simply remember what we’ve studied. The myth was started with the media, leading us to believe that music of any genre is better than silence while studying.

There have been multiple studies leading to the same results, and while some of us might swear by it, according to research it actually doesn’t have any positive effects. By that, we don’t mean you should avoid listening to music, but don’t do it in hopes of improving our ability to get better results on your next exam. This has been proven by studies performed by Dr Nick Perham who says listening to any types of music while reading is disruptive and adds no benefit to remembering what you’ve read.

Psychologist Francis Rauscher has done many different studies when it comes to the effects of music on humans. Some of you might remember her studies with the effects of music on unborn children. Her studies have shown that some people might benefit from the right type of music. For example, she suggests that you list to the music you enjoy, meaning if you’re not a fan of classical music, don’t use it to try and improve your studies, but rather use music you’re a fan of.

While there are differences in opinion and research as seen above, everyone agrees that music that involves worlds won’t help while trying to read and that other forms of music might only provide small benefits if any at all. For some of us, it’s actually a disadvantage while for some it helps, especially with math and other forms of non-reading studies such as technical drawing. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what works for you, which is why we recommend trying the different options and seeing how they affect your studies.

The lessons from Avicii

The lessons from Avicii

On the 20th of April, 2018 Tim bergling known popularly by his stage names was dead, cause of death;  Suicide.

It is sad that a man who has continued to lift others with deep reaching sounds couldn’t get his own uplifting songs to help him when he needed it.

Avicii was a Swedish musician, a DJ and a remixer who grew to be loved by millions all over the world while making his million bucks.

The young artist who touched the lives of millions with his works and philanthropy started his career quite early, by posting his remixes on electronic music forums at the age of 16,and not long from then had his first record deal.

Avicii was nominated for a Grammy for his work with fellow DJ David Guetta and was being recognized as one of the DJ’s who ushered in electronic music and made it quite popular in the 2010’s.

Yet what was so special about this young man who touched the lives of people on and off concerts,  on radio and when they didn’t listen to his voice or songs.

His album True contained songs like wake me up which touched the lives of people all over the world especially young people who felt lost.

The song tries to make young people understand that sometimes, somehow it is okay not to have a sense of direction or a place of destination but it is okay to start.  It is best to start and take life as it comes, making it fun to live.  And while the older generation, the ones who have seen everything are keen to chastise the young for failing to have a sense of direction, for failing to take life as serious as they hoped,  the song hoped that the young feel contented in living life as it comes . The young would be warned as about potential regrets later in life, but the key is to enjoy living life while you still have it.

He might be seen to just finding his place in life but he doesn’t see it like that, for him he has to enjoy what he faces in life.  And even when he tries to be like everyone worrying about life, he sees it’s futility .

Life is short, should be lived fully

Yet how did this young man whose songs sounded cryptic but whose videos showed a man who wasn’t afraid of facing life lying fead at the young age from suicide.

He retired early from performing and touring because he felt mentally drained and unable to continue. But he reassured fans he was back to the studio making music.  His health issues continued to follow him heavily especially after he had acute pancreatitis and had his gallbladder and appendix removed.

His lack of fear for the vicissitudes of life and enjoying the little pleasures of life like a bottle of scotch caught up with him.

But Avicii who gave his fans great lyrics to live for ensured he not only touched people with his music but touched them with his philanthropy work.

His house for hunger was a charity that gave back to the world. While he continued to live life to the fullest he made sure someone somewhere had the chance to just live life .

Avicii might be gone but his powerful lyrics remind us how precious life is , and how we must continue to give back.
